For the first time, the nordics largest event for popular culture was held in Gothenburg. It’s the ultimate event for you who love comics and sci-fi. Even if you’re not very keen on Sci-fi, you might enjoy the atmosphere.
There were known actors and over 60 exhibitors at the event. The Special Guest line up for this event was Gaten Matarazzo from Stranger Things, Alexander Ludwig from Vikings and Kristofer Hivju from Game of Thrones. You had the opportunity to take a photo with the actors and have their autograph signed (which you had to pay for). But they also did a Q/A (which was free) where you could ask the actors about the characters they are playing.
The exhibitors included international comic artists who has worked with Marvel, DC, Valiant, Dark Horse and more. Also a Game Zone where you could try out cool VR-games. The games was brought by the best VR-centers in Sweden – Mission IX and VR world. You could play the new game Man of Medan. The first game in the Dark Pictures Anthology, bringing supernatural horror to the South Pacific. And if you have a new game idea, you could pitch your idea to the Game Incubator!
What was new for this year was “Heroes talk”, which means that invited guest were showing how they work. The artists were drawing live and experienced people in the gaming industry were sharing their best tips.
If you like cosplay, you are more than welcomed to dress up as any character you want. Doesn’t have to be based on a comic! At this convent we had the pleasure to see people that were cosplaying as Harley Quinn, Deadpool, Captain Jack Sparrow, and more.
Comic Con Gothenburg, thank you for a great experience.
