Previously the Bistro Royal used to be the private royal waiting room at the Malmo train station. But now this historic space has been preserved and lives on in a truly wonderful way. You can now enjoy great-tasting European, Swedish and vegetarian-friendly cuisine in a beautifully decorated room with a vaulted ceiling that is sure to make you feel like royalty for an afternoon. Bistro Royal is open daily but can also be reserved either by table or in its entirety for large parties or gatherings. Their queens’ hall room is able to sit 10-14 people comfortably. It is private and secluded from the restaurants outside hustle and bustle. They also cater upon request and do weddings or conferences.
Lunch is served from 11 AM sharp to about 3 PM. They have daily specials that change with the seasons and at the chef’s digression. At the time of writing, you can enjoy grilled Entrecote with French fries, vegetables and béarnaise sauce, fillet of pork with fried potatoes in mushroom sauce, a bacon pasta dish, fillet with lobster sauce and boiled potatoes. Their after work menu begins at 2 PM and ends at 5 PM from Monday to Friday. It consists of great drinks specials which includes house beer and wine for under 60kr, a fantastic value Caesars salad with chicken, bacon, tomatoes, croutons, romaine lettuce and Caesar dressing for 99kr. On Sundays, they serve sirloin steak with potato cake in red wine sauce, cherry tomatoes in a medley with sautéed vegetables, grilled charred fillet with caviar, and lime cheesecake. You can get some of these nice dishes in fixed course set for 259 – 349kr.
