Having a meal by the sea is a classic way to spend an afternoon or evening in Göteborg, and many other Swedish cities thanks to the landscape. However, in this part of the country there is no better way to dine seaside than going out to the island of Hönö and visiting Tullhuset.
The restaurant, and the island for that matter, is a perfect escape from the city. Maybe you have the time to spend a weekend, maybe you are just coming for the day. Regardless of your reason and length of stay Tullhuset is something you must see.
While on the island there are hiking trails and water sports. If you want to stay indoors, the Fish Museum is interesting and eclectic. At some point during the trip you are going to want to kick your feet up and have a beverage and some food.
At this point in the day find Tullhuset at the southern tip of the island. The views from the dock-like patio hung over the water are breathtaking. The food is phenomenal, some of the freshest seafood you will ever taste in fact. Finally, the staff is so friendly that you may consider moving to the island so you can frequent this spot just for the service.
As I have mentioned, the seafood is not to be missed but I understand it’s not for everyone. With this in mind, it should be mentioned that the chefs are very experienced and do each dish on the menu artfully well.
