If you’re looking for a comfortable, familiar-feeling neighborhood spot where the locals like to go to enjoy a great glass of wine, grab a beer or glass of spirits, or share a quick lunch or dinner with friends, you won’t do much better than 19 Glas Bar & Matsal.
Located on Stora Nygatan in Stockholm’s Old Town, 19 Glas prides itself on the descriptions given to it years ago by a couple of food writers – a small neighborhood restaurant with big ambitions, and a small waterhole for big wine lovers.
19 Glas is a rather small place but they are big on wine. All kinds of wine. Traditional, natural, one-of-a-kind. But the friendly, helpful staff will be happy to guide you through the wine list, making suggestions by the glass to match your taste or your meal choice.
19 Glas is known for their tremendous and unique wine selection and is a destination for the city’s wine lovers, but they also serve great tasting traditional Swedish food in the dining room’s pleasant atmosphere, again with their own unique twists. Choose from beef, pork and seafood dishes, or enjoy a nice duck entrée or their special pea soup. The set menu of a daily 2-course lunch and 4-course dinner is always capped off with a delicious dessert. Or you can opt for cheeses or snacks with your wine.
19 Glas is a bit pricey, as are most eateries in Stockholm, but those who visit usually agree it was well worth it!
