The philosophy of Babel Deli is to create food with a lot of taste, like Asian food, but of high quality, like Scandinavian food. Then to combine those into a food of Middle Eastern tradition. Ouila! Their mezebar was born, creating high quality meze from scratch using the best ingredients to provide the finest taste to their customers.
For those unfamiliar, meze refers to a selection of small dishes served as appetizers, often to accompany alcoholic drinks. Think Middle Eastern tapas, of a sort. The deli in Vasastan offers a number of types of meze, including those made with lamb, chicken, vegetables, goat and feta cheese, and falafel, all for 95kr each. There are also a variety of rolls available for 79kr, and a selection of salads also for 95 kr. The eatery also offers a mezebuffet for 95kr to 135kr a person, depending on how much you plan to eat. They even have baklava for dessert.
Bable Deli is open 10:30-20:00 on weekdays, and 11:00-16:00 on Saturdays for lunch, dinner and takeout orders and they also offers catering for both private individuals and businesses. Portion packed foods are available, as are rolls from the deli’s regular menu, or they can supply one of their mezebuffets that will feed anywhere from 8-300 people. Delivery charges vary depending on day and time of the event and distance travelled. There are details available on their website where there is a form provided to place an order or the deli can be contacted directly for more information.
