As you might expect, Barrels Burgers & Beer specializes in, well, burgers and beer. Their three locations at Stora Nygatan 20 in Gamla stan, Smalandsgatan 22 in Norrmalm, and Bysistorget 4 in Sodermalm have become very popular eateries within the city of Stockholm.
Barrels’ focus is on service and quality. They pride themselves on their comfortable, welcoming atmosphere and friendly service, and both the beef for their burgers and fresh baked buns from Brod & Salt in Hammarby sjostad are delivered fresh daily.
The three locations have slightly different menus and opening hours, but all feature the basic and some specialty burgers the chain has become known for. Hamburgers, cheeseburgers, Barrels own and original, along with southern fried chicken and veggie burgers, are available at all locations, as are sides including salad, french and sweet potato fries, and green beans. But the city locations also offer wings, blooming onions, and the triple smash burger. All locations feature Barrels’ famous burger of the month creations and the restaurant’s burger-themed desserts.
Patrons can choose from a variety of mainstream beer brands and types, including lagers, stouts, and ales, rotated out every week so there’s always something new. But Barrels also features its own craft beers, in both bottles and barrels, created in its own microbrewery, Tritonia Olverstad, located behind the restaurant in Gamla stan.
Barrels does not accept reservations, and even though prices are on the high side, the food is good and the venues fill up quickly so come early!
