Looking to play some games until well into the wee hours in central Stockholm? Then you might want to pay a visit to Biljardpalatset – The Billiard Palace. Open since 1963 in the same location at St. Eriksgatan 52, the business started out as strictly a coffee shop with carambole billiard tables, but has grown to a three-story entertainment complex that offers not only caramboles but also pool billiards, ping pong, darts, shuffleboard, a casino section with Black Jack and gaming machines, a full bar and restaurant, and the largest pinball and arcade hall in the city. The Billiard Palace opens seven days a week at 11:00 and is open until 01:00 Sunday-Thursday, when reservations are taken for game tables, and until 03:00 Friday and Saturday. Everyone is welcome at The Billiard Palace, but they do limit patrons to 18 and over after 18:00 each day, and it does tend to be a bit cheaper to play games earlier in the day and during the week.
The Billiard Palace is known for their chivitos grilled sandwiches, but their restaurant also offers up a number of main courses, burgers and a couple of starters. They also maintain two completely stocked bars where you can enjoy a good cocktail or any number of beers from bright lagers to the darkest stouts or gates.
The Billiard Palace takes special reservations for group or company events but you might want to leave Fido at home – the establishment is not pet-friendly!
