As the name might imply, Bistro & Vincafe Rolf de Mare is the perfect place in Stockholm’s Norrmalm district to grab a light lunch, three-course meal for dinner, or a quick glass of beer or wine with a friend.
Located at Drottninggatan 15 on the street level of a very stately corner building, the Bistro itself is rather simply apportioned with a mix of tables and chairs, booths along the side walls, and eclectic wall hangings supplying a decidedly informal and welcoming atmosphere. There is additional seating outdoors for those who prefer an al fresco setting during the warm weather months, and a staff that is exceedingly friendly and helpful providing quick service even during the busiest hours.
The food at the Bistro is mostly traditional Swedish, including Swedish meatballs, schnitzel, salmon, fish stew and other seafood, but also includes some European and even American influenced dishes such as fried chicken, vegetarian lasagna, and Croque Monsieur, along with salads, sandwiches and desserts. There is a rather extensive wine list available, including champagne and cava, and a number of beer offerings, both by the bottle and on tap, along with ciders, coffees and teas, and soft drinks.
The Bistro is open Monday – Saturday 11:00-22:00 and Sundays 12:00-20:00 for lunch, dinner and afternoon snacks. A set lunch menu is available weekdays 11:00-14:00 with a few extra dishes always available, and prices are reasonable with the daily lunch menu running 109 SEK and dinner meals costing around 200 SEK. Reservations are accepted, except from 11:30-13:00, and there is banquet hall available for large and small group evens.
