Ciao Ciao Grande has been providing genuine Italian cuisine in its charming, cozy, welcoming space in Stockholm’s Ostermalm district since 1995. The Italian-themed décor provides an authentic-feeling atmosphere to enjoy some of the best traditional cuisine, and arguably the best pizza, in the city.
Open weekdays for lunch from 11:00-15:00, Ciao Ciao Grande has a daily set menu which changes weekly, along with a selection of pizzas always available. All lunches, including the pies, run 110kr and include salad, bread, a drink and coffee. There are a number of pasta dishes available throughout the week, including carbonara, salsiccia and casarecce, as well as meat and seafood dishes, including those one might consider more traditionally Italian along with more Scandinavian-themed options, such as wallenbergare, schnitzel and salmon.
The dinner menu at Ciao Ciao Grande is similar, with meat and seafood dishes available, a lengthy list of salads, risotto, and a generous offering of pastas, everything from vegetarian options to dishes including beef, ham, chicken and seafood. There are also more than three dozen varieties of pizza available, including without tomato sauce and gluten-free options, starters, including pane, bruschetta, mozzarella caparese, baked eggplant and antipasto, and traditional aperitifs such as martinis, cosmopolitans and prosecco-based drinks. There is a lovely dessert menu available which includes tiramisu, crème brulle, chocolate truffle, sorbet, and ice cream. Prices can be a bit on the high side with dinner pizzas averaging about 150-160kr and entrees running 165-319, but the food and service are both good and the restaurant is popular with both tourists and locals alike.
