Best in Sweden was invited to come taste test some of the newest spirits that Jan Rothman at Skånska Spritfabriken has produced as well as the non-alcoholic selection and even some experimental blends that will hopefully one day make it to the shelves around the world.
Gin, like many spirits, was originally made by monks across Europe and flavored with juniper berries. Gin rose in popularity, in England especially, after being mixed with jenever, a Dutch traditional liquor, and becoming what we know as gin today. Currently 71 distilleries in Sweden produce gin in a wide variety of flavors. Here is the full list!
